Isohelix GeneFiX™ Saliva DNA Collection Device

Isohelix GeneFiX™ is an easy-to-use DNA saliva collection device that stabilizes DNA long term. The collector is pre-filled and has a simple screw-on funnel for simple saliva delivery directly into the non-toxic stabilization buffer. The unique funnel design prevents flow back. Various tube options are now available for both manual and HT or Automated Rackable formats with our new assisted option using foam swabs. The device is fully specified for sample transport and storage.

 

 

 

Isohelix GeneFiX™ Saliva-Prep 2 DNA Isolation Kit (GSPN)

Isohelix's New GeneFiX™ Saliva-Prep 2 DNA Isolation Kit (GSPN) is specifically designed for use with saliva collection samples. It uses a new formulated precipitation method to quickly and easily isolate the DNA, up to volumes of 2ml from the GeneFiX™ Saliva DNA Collectors. The GeneFiX™ Saliva-Prep 2 kit does not use solvents, columns or filtration. The reduced number of protocol steps makes it extremely easy-to-use. The kit is also compatible with other non-Isohelix swabs and saliva devices.

Sample isolation using the new precipitation method has tremendous advantages over spin-column based purification as the latter is known to have the following issues: 1) Co-elution of RNA: RNA are co-eluted with DNA. When the spectrophotometer gives you a nice A260/280 reading of purity, maybe half of them are contributed by RNA, & 2) Low yield of DNA: With all the wash steps involved, the final yield of DNA is unexpectedly low compared with precipitation-based kits.

 

 

 

Isohelix Dri-Capsules

Designed to enhance the performance of the Isohelix SK-1 swabs, Isohelix Dri-Capsules are specifically developed at Isohelix to quickly and efficiently dry the swabs without DNA cross contamination risks, yet maintaining complete molecular biology integrity. The capsules are highly efficient with a non-toxic coating containing a high grade silica gel with a color indicator to display continued active stabilization for easy handling, and can be best served as a liquid-free alternative to DSK Kit which is ideal for remote and field sample collection.

All components are rigorously batch and DNA tested to defined and stringent quality standards prior to assembly within the highest specification multi-laminate moisture barrier foil, which maintains and guarantees the Dri-Capsules performance over the long term and in varying temperatures and humidities.

 

 

 

 Isohelix DNA Buccal Swabs

Buccal cell sampling offers a viable alternative to blood collection.Together with the Isohelix range of DNA Isolation and Stabilization kits, enables high yields of pure, intact DNA to be collected easily and quickly. Buccal Swabs are also suitable for both human and veterinary use and offer significant advantages over other cell collection methods.

Isohelix range of DNA Buccal Swab has been specifically designed to guarantee increased yields of high quality buccal cell and genomic DNA. Swab batches are ethylene oxide treated and undergone stringent quality control to eliminate human DNA contamination. 

 

 

 

Isohelix Spin+Collect™ 

Isohelix Spin+Collect™ is a novel sample recovery device to increase sample yields (over 25% more) from swabs and other materials. The Spin+Collect firmly grips the swab or other material whilst exposing maximal surface area for the first step of elution or lysis of the sample. A 1.5ml microfuge tube is then fitted as a cap and inverted for centrifugation and final release of any sample trapped in the matrix.

 

The Spin+Collect recovers sample deeply embedded in the matrix that only requires a single centrifuge step. It is disposable, sterile, packaged aseptically and have undergone stringent quality control to eliminate human DNA contamination.
